I had the opportunity to meet and work with these amazing women who work with traditional handi-crafts for fair trade, made with sustainable local materials and natural dye. The National Association of Women’s Organizations in Uganda are women who have been battered, infected with HIV/AIDS, and create these extrodinary baskets to empower themselves and to provide income for their families. The bottom photo is a collaboration of a solar powered water distiller in the form of a traditional Nubian basket. The materials used was rafia, tube lining and sisal.
